Diver’s Remains found in Tacoma, WA

Submitted by bill on August 9, 2007 – 9:29 amNo Comment

An unidentified diver’s remains were located near Tacoma, WA.

An off-duty firefighter on a dive Monday afternoon noticed the mostly skeletal remains, still clad in diving gear, in about 200 feet of water, Pierce County sheriff’s Detective Ed Troyer said.

The identity of the body remained unclear pending an effort to recover the remains with specialized gear, including an underwater camera and remote equipment.

A diver vanished in the same area in November, but “we have people missing from all over Puget Sound,” Troyer said. “There’s more than one person it could be.”

How many divers have “gone missing” over the years? Is there a list?
