San Diego Fire 2007

Sunrise, La Mesa, CA So I live in La Mesa, CA. It’s been a tense few days but the fire turned north last night, towards Jamul, and so we aren’t in danger and really never were.
We were an evacuation center for our friends and their animals but most of them went home last night. My work, which is in Carmel Valley area, near Rancho Santa Fe/Poway is still closed.

The news is all over the place, especially the local TV stations. However, I’ve found the best and most up to date is KPBS radio, they’ve had the best coverage but lost their towers and are no longer broadcasting on 89.5 but now 94.9.

They have a Twitter blog, which is the most up to date source of info:
http://twitter.com/kpbsnews

On your mobile phone it’s m.twitter.com/kpbsnews

This Google Map is so up to date that most news organizations are now using it.

We aren’t out of the woods yet and this is worse than the Cedar Fire of 2003.
