Vintage Underwater Images

Check out that underwater housing that Bruce Mozert made back in the 1930s, which at the time was one of few in existance. For the next few decades he used it to take some amazing underwater pictures in Silver Springs Florida. Check out the Smithsonian’s site for a collection of them.

    Cool! He might have invented it in the 1930’s, but that picture was taken after 1943 when the aqualung became available.

    In 8th grade, around 1976, I put my kodak box camera into a 3lb coffee can with modified clear-glass lid and took pictures in the club pool. I flooded it after a couple tries.
